Best Russian Learning App | Privyet!

Russian is one of the more difficult languages for English speakers to learn. However, it can be one of the most rewarding, and it’s definitely going to come in use over the coming years.

One way that you can learning Russian quicker is by using a learning app. Typically, a tutor is the best way for you to improve your Russian skills – however, a good app can definitely help you to pick up the language quicker. So, lets look at some of the best Russian learning apps.

Best Russian Learning App

Memrise

Whilst you don;t have as many options as you do with more popular languages, you still can use the big brands which have learning courses in any language. One of these would definitely be Memrise, which is one of the best Russian learning apps.

Although it does have flashcards in the app, there is much more to it than just flashcard learning. It is a high quality app, and the lessons are structured well to help you learn quickly and easily. I’d advise that you download the free version first before paying for the version that costs money.

So in conclusion, for those just getting started with learning Russian, then Memrise would be a great choice. Or, it would make a great additional learning source if you’re learning Russian through a tutor. However, Memrise isn’t comprehensive enough to get you to fluent Russian, so you may need to use it in tandem with another app.

Busuu

Busuu is one of my favorite apps for learning any language, but the Russian version of the app is definitely a good choice. It’s quite extensive, so if you want to get more fluent in Russian, then this app might be the one to choose.

This app has a lot of quizzes on the language, so if this is one of the ways you learn best, then this might be a good choice for you. It also has extensive vocabulary training and it’s also a good one if you want to practice your conversational skills in Russian, too. Unlike some other apps, this one works fine offline, which is handy.

Overall, there are a lot of different lessons in this app, and each lesson has more than 150 units in it! So for more extensive Russian learning try Busuu.

Drops

Another very good Russian learning app is Drops. If you’re learning Russian but you’re struggling with your pronunciation, then this app can definitely help you improve that.

This is a much newer brand that others like Duolingo, but that doesn’t mean it’s any lesser. In fact, I actually prefer it to the Russian version of Duolingo! It has a lot of words and phrases in it, and it presents them via a fun game, which can make learning a lot more fun. However, this app is probably not extensive enough to be used alone to learn Russian, so it’s a good idea to pair it up with another app if you really want to learn.

HelloTalk

HelloTalk is not really a learning app as such, but it links you with Russians that was to improve another language. Most often Russians want to improve their English, so you can trade with each other to help each other both learn at the same time.

You can use this app via video calls, but it also does audio calls too which is great if you don’t like facing the camera. Overall, I think that HelloTalk can be a great accompaniment to another Russian learning app.

This is a good question, as both languages are said to be two of the hardest to learn for English speakers. i would say that in terms of the alphabet, then Polish is much easier to read than the Cyrillic alphabet. In conclusion, Russian is not the easiest language to learn, but it will likely prove very useful later down the line if you plan to visit Eastern Europe. If you can pick up the Cyrillic alphabet quickly, then you might be able to learn Russian within a short amount of time.
